MECHANISM OF ACTION

Target: It acts on insect γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors but has different binding sites than traditional GABA inhibitors such as fipronil.

Features:
Irreversible blocking of nerve transmission → rapid paralysis and death of the pest.
Highly effective against resistant pests (especially resistant populations of Lepidoptera).

PREPARATION TYPE AND METHOD OF USE

 

Common dosage forms:

Suspension concentrate (SC): such as 100 g/L Broflanilide SC (foliar spray).
Seed treatment (FS): such as 5% Broflanilide FS (for controlling underground pests).
Granular agent (GR): for soil application.

Recommended dosage:

Foliar spray: 30-50 mL/mu (diluted 1000-1500 times).
Seed treatment: 5-10 g/kg seeds.

 

REGISTRATION AND MARKET STATUS

Broflanilide global registration:

Japan (first registration in 2019), the United States (EPA approved in 2020), the European Union (approved in 2022).
China: temporary registration in 2021, mainly used for rice and vegetables.

Broflanilide main combination:

Combined with avermectin and chlorfenapyr to enhance rapid effect.

 

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

 

Safety interval (PHI):
14 days for rice, 7 days for vegetables (refer to the label for details).

Resistance prevention:
Use no more than 2 times per season, and rotate different mechanism agents (such as insect growth regulators).

Mixing taboos:
Avoid mixing with strong alkaline agents (easy to decompose when pH>9).
